Topping better known competitors like Robby Gordon and his Hummer, and only a few moments behind the "big boys" of the Dakar (Roma, Peterhansel, Alphand, etc.) the Nissan Navara of Krzysztof Holowczyc (9th overall and 7:44 behind the leader) and the Navara of Ivar Erik Tollefsen (13th overall and 12:54 behind the leader) both had strong initial runs on the longest special in Dakar history...obviously there is a loooong way to go in this, but its a good initial first step and leads me to believe that my predictions in the recent past of a couple top 15s in this Dakar are certainly possible for Nissan...and perhaps more....
