Titan: More Signs of Life!!

Building upon previous comments out of Nissan execs. that they would continue with the Titan regardless of Chrysler/Dodge's interest/existence comes word from another Nissan exec. that the joint project looks to be profitable for both automakers and is looked upon as a good idea for both companies.  This is in spite of Chrysler's bankruptcy filing and imminent takeover by Fiat.  It now looks like the current hiatus of the next gen Titan is only a temporary pause to let the economy and auto industry shake itself out with the future Titan to go into development once things clear up a bit...

Ghosn is an idiot. He killed the Titan when he even mentioned the colaboration with dodge on the next T. Who wants a rebranded Dodge. Hey lets allow a company not know for good quality build our trucks. I bought a Titan because it was different. Nissan worked out the bugs after only a few years and dodge still sells shit. The Titan is a Titan no more unless Nissan builds it. Their is a reason why Chrysler is in terrible shape. They are not a good company to get in bed with. Let them sink as they put out crap for the last 15-20 years.

But that is part of the point of the joint project...though SOME of the underpinnings will be Dodge (engine?? drivetrain??) the majority of the vehicle will be Nissan designed and sourced...the next gen Titan has NEVER been intended to be a rebranded Dodge...That is a fallacy many seem to believe for some reason...the MAIN reason Nissan is getting into bed with Chrysler for this is the manufacturing plant in Mexico which can build the Titan far cheaper than Smyrna, TN can, which will instead be devoted to the higher volume commercial vehicles Nissan has coming on line next year...
