So I saw this "experiemnt" the other day on a different website and thought it would be great to try at home and film. My five year old and I always get a great kick out of stuff like this. Evidently, Ivory Soap floats due the large numbers of air bubbles in it and within those air bubbles is a small amount of water. Pop the Ivory in the microwave and heat up that water and the soap expands and bubbles into a light, flaky blob looking thing, moving around the microwave with a mind of its own. This was only half a bar of soap as I was a little concerned about just how big a mess a whole bar would make!
Enjoy...
